Cine-Teatro de Alcobaça – João d’Oliva Monteiro host again the third edition of the event which has officially open entries

The 3rd International Chamber Music Competition “Cidade de Alcobaça” (CIMCA) has already set the dates: October 27th to November 1st – these are the days when Cine-Teatro de Alcobaça – João d’Oliva Monteiro will host the third edition of the event. Since today the entries are officially open for this competition that has the divulgation of Chamber Music as one of their main goals and which will close on September 23rd.

As for the names that will compose the Jury of the competition they are: António Rosa (President of the Jury and Artistic Director) and Luiz Fernando Pérez Herrero (Escuela Superior Reina Sofia, Madrid), both repeating their presence, as also Abel Pereira (Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música and ESMAE), Miquel Bernat (Drumming, ESMAE and ESMUC, Barcelona), Aníbal Lima (Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra) e Lori Sims (Western Michigan University, USA), figures that express once again the quality and distinction placed in Jury selection.

As for prizes, the winners in the Junior Category will receive a prize of € 2500 (sponsored by the Inatel Foundation) and the opportunity to perform in concerts at Cistermúsica – Alcobaça Music Festival (2014). For the Senior Category, the prize will be € 4000, with concerts at Cistermúsica – Alcobaça Music Festival (2014), Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival (South Africa, 2014) and Centro Cultural de Belém (2014).
